Mini Irish Doodle Breed Info

The Mini Irish Doodle is a charming mix between the Miniature Poodle and the Irish Setter, bred to combine the friendly, outgoing personality of the Setter with the intelligence and low-shedding coat of the Poodle. Known for their wavy red coats, cheerful spirit, and affectionate nature, these dogs make ideal companions for families, individuals, and anyone looking for a social, easy-to-train dog in a smaller size.

This crossbreed was developed to offer a more compact alternative to the Standard Irish Doodle, without losing the appeal of the Setter’s warmth or the Poodle’s sharp mind. The result is a dog that’s clever, adaptable, and easy to live with. They do best in homes where they can be part of the action—whether it’s going for a walk, lounging on the couch, or greeting new guests at the door.

Most Miniature Irish Doodles weigh between 15 and 35 pounds, depending on lineage, and are known for their silky, often curly coats and soulful expressions. They’re friendly with strangers, devoted to their people, and quick to pick up on household routines.

Beyond their looks, what stands out most is their temperament. Mini Irish Doodles tend to be steady, patient, and eager to please. They enjoy a bit of activity but don’t need constant stimulation, which makes them a great choice for families with children or those with a more relaxed daily pace.

For those seeking a small designer dog breed that’s good-natured, bright, and just a little different, the Mini Irish Doodle brings a lovely balance of style, personality, and ease. Whether you’re drawn to their red curls or their gentle presence, this breed tends to leave a lasting impression.
